My husband and I visited Belize for three weeks and stayed at Ian Anderson's Caves Branch for three nights. It was our first trip without our two sons (aged 10 and 12). We were celebrating our 15th anniversary. We knew after one night at Caves Branch that we would have to return with our boys. The adventure trips are like nothing you've ever experienced. Although I felt completely safe with every trip I went on I was also very nervous and at one point, was the most terrified I've ever been in my life. They chose to stay in a Riverview tree house, at this time the river was not flowing since it was “dry season” in Belize. However, they loved the accommodations and had a blast. To get to the tree houses, it is a bit of a climb though so you would need to be willing to climb some steps depending on how high you want to be in the canopy.
“To hear the jungle outside your walls as you lay in bed was amazing. My husband was worried that he didn't bring earplugs as he is a light sleeper but he had absolutely no problem sleeping at night. “We were sad to leave but know we will be returning with our boys. It is truly a changing experience. We loved that there was no a/c and didn't miss it at all. … We were impressed by the food and the choices available. We loved the long tables where you ate with different people every night and made new friends by the end of the night as you shared your experiences.
We actually returned to Ian Anderson's Caves Branch when we were driving to the airport for our flight home. By this time we had been gone from Caves Branch about a week.
