According to the statistics gathered by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) 2014 was an outstanding year for the Tourism Industry in Belize. The year started with several properties in Belize earning awards in TripAdvisor's 2014 Travelers' Choice Awards (Our Belize Jungle Lodge being one of them!).

Then, there was the announcement by Southwest Airlines that they would begin nonstop service to Belize, via Houston's William P. Hobby Airport, commencing October, 2015.
