Belize Overnight Jungle Tour
Adventures that must be experienced to be believed…But once experienced, Never Forgotten!
Ian Anderson’s Caves Branch Jungle Lodge is known for the most unique, adventurous, and safe tours in Belize. But for those who are truly adventurous at heart and like a real challenge, our overnight expeditions take adventure to a whole new level.
Overnight Caving Expedition
2 days/1 night
Start your two-day overnight caving expedition with the exhilaration of experiencing the Black Hole Drop. After rappelling into the basin of the sinkhole, your guides will lead you into the incredible rimstone dam entrance of the Actun Loch Tunich river cave system. The camp is set up inside the entrance and dinner is prepared. Next, it’s off to explore the upper crystal chambers which were once the ceremonial sites of the ancient Maya. The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, you trek down another 400 feet along cave cliff walls to the Actun Loch Tunich underground river. Follow the steps of the Maya, as you explore some of the 24 kilometers of mapped passageways, bubbling springs, and an underground waterfall. After a vigorous hike out of the cave system, it’s just a short ride back to the lodge. As you enjoy a well-deserved dip in the pool before dinner, you can entertain other guests with stories of your night in an ancient cave.

“That overnight trip is one of the most unforgettable experiences I have had. We hiked through the jungle with 3 fabulous guides, repelled down a cliff, and spent two days caving. For those who have never been caving before – fear not. This was my first time and is very doable.”
